The best jam tart

Difficulty: beginners



  • 300g 00 flour
  • 165 g soft butter or 75 g sunflower oil
  • 130 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 yolks
  • Grated lemon peel
  • An envelope of vanillin
  • A pinch of salt
  • ½ sachet of baking powder (a teaspoon)
  • 250 g jam

Combine the butter with the sugar with a whisk, then add the eggs one at a time.
Add vanillin and lemon peel.
Pour in the flour and baking powder a little at a time.
Refrigerate for two hours the batter.
Preheat the oven to 180°C
Then spread with a rolling pin on baking paper and place in the cake tin.
Pierce the bottom with the prongs of the fork.
Pour the jam and with the remaining pieces of dough make strips to decorate the cake.
Bake for 10′ at 180°C then for another 20′ at 175°C, however check the degree of cooking.
