Strawberrry jam tart

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup strawberrry jam


In a bowl add the butter, the flour and the ground cinnamon and start working the ingredients with your fingers until you get a crumby dough.

Add the sugar and the baking powder and mix.

Add the eggs and the vanilla extract and work the dough ith your fingers until everything is well mixed.

roll out 3/4 of the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 cm thikness then transfer it using the rolling pin into the pie pan.

Adjust the edges and poke the dough few times with a fork to prevent it from swelleing .

Spread the strawberry jam on the dough.

Roll out the rest of the dough and use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to cut stripes to decorate the tart.

Bake the tart in preheated oven at 170C for about 40 minutes.

Let the tart cool down before cutting and serving.
