basic low fat Zucchini dip

Difficulty: easy


  • 2 medium size zucchinis
  • 1 cup low fat plain yogurt, choose a good quality yogurt with creamy consistency (can be substituted with vegan yogurt)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to liking
  • olive oil
  • optional seasoning: 1 tablespoon Tahini, dried mint, fresh coriander, cumin etc….


Peel and cut the zucchinis to small pieces.

Sautee the zucchini until well cooked.

Put the Zucchinis in a blender and add the yogurt, garlic powder, salt and pepper and blend until smooth and creamy.

Add your chosen seasoning and blend again.

Pour the Dip in the serving bowl and drizzle some olive oil on top.

About the recipe:

This dip is very versatile and can be used as a dip with oven baked fries, chips and veggie sticks.

It can be used as a sauce to go with meat or as a sandwich spread.

For a non diary version you can use a vegan yogurt.

The dip can be flavored with a Varity of herps and seasonings even with some cream cheese or catchup for the kids.
