- 1200 gr pork loin
- 4 onions
- 1 carrot
- 1 steak of celery
- 1 spoon of peppercorns
- 1 glass white wine
- 60 gr brown sugar
- 2 bay leaves
- olive oil
Cut the carrot, the celery and half onion and put them in a big pot with olive oil.
After 2′ put the meat inside and seal it on all sides. Then add the white wine, the bay leaves, peppercorns and cover with the lid.
After 15′ add the sliced onions and the sugar. Add 1 teaspoon of salt.
Turn the meat every 15 minutes until it becomes brown.
Story of the recipe
This recipe is connected with my best Christmas, that was the last one. I cooked this recipe among other things. (A lot of other things….)
My family is a big italian family, and my huband’s too.. so when Christmas came usually it was a tragedy: we had to choose, one year each, and nobody was happy.
This year everything changed! My husband and I managed to buy a new house, with a big living room…and the solution to our problem appeared: we gathered my family and my husband’s family all together... we invited even my brother’s mother-in-law and my sister-in-law’s brother so everyone, finally, was happy… that was the best Christmas for me.
A lot of cooking involved….. but it was worthy!
