Blackberry Gelato

Difficulty: easy , requires an ice cream machine

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups fresh  Blackberries about
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup instant no fat dry milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon juice fresh
  • 2 Tablespoons vanilla bean paste or Vanilla extract

Procedure

Process the blackberries,  1/4 cup sugar and the lemon juice in a blender till smooth

Pour through a fine wire-mesh strainer to remove seeds discard solids.

Place the milk, cream, sugar,  milk powder, vanilla bean past and blackberry Pure in a saucepan.

Bring to a  Low simmer over medium heat.

Remove and let cool completely

Place in airtight container and chill for 2 days.

Pour the mixture into an ice cream machine and process according to manufacturers directions.

Transfer to a freezer safe co container  and freeze until firm (about 2 hrs).

 Let it soften in room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving.
