Author: @FurqanReisen Serve: 12 slices, Time:  15′ prep + 30′

Difficulty: easy

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • honey or simple syrup
  • grated coconut or chopped nuts for sprinkling on top (optional)

Add all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix until all the ingredients are incorporated.

line a medium pan with butter and pour the mix

Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes at 350 F (175 C).

While still hot drizzle honey or simple syrup ( traditionally it should be soaked in honey but i personally prefer just a thin layer on top).

Sprinkle some grated coconuts or any chopped nuts (optional).

Let it cool for at least an hour in the pan then cut to squares and serve with tea.
