Ingredients
- 1 stick of good quality butter
- ½ cup of brown sugar
- ½ cup of white sugar
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of baking soda
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 ⅓ cups of flour
- 1 cup of chocolate chips
Procedure
Melt the butter until the milk solids are nice and toasted.
Preheat the oven to 176°C (350°F)
Let the butter cool and then add the 2 sugars and mix and all is well incorporated.
Then add the salt, baking soda, vanilla and egg until incorporated and until it has a viscous consistency.
Once that’s done add the flour and chocolate chips, mix until you can’t see and flour.
Serve spoonfuls to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and put a bit of sea salt on top (fleur de sel) and pop into the oven for about 8 to 10 minutes.
Let cool and enjoy with a glass of cold milk.

I screamed Chocolate cookies only to have my niece give me a puppy look expecting me to give her one & my SIL a side eye for saying it right before bedtime.
